What is litter box training?

We start litter box training at six weeks old. We start by having a sleep area, small play area and the litter box with wood pellets in it. The first few days we observe them closely and clean up accidents in the play area as rapidly as possible and put them in the litter box. It doesn't take them long to associate the difference between the play area and potty area. As they grow and learn to use the litter box more regularly, we gradually increase their play area. With lots of hard work and dedication on our part, by 8 weeks old they should be using the litter box most of the time. This is a huge step in the house training process. It teaches them that there are play areas and potty areas and its not ok to go potty wherever and whenever they jolly well please😊
